Production Meeting

Today I had a mini production meeting with my lecturer about my ideas for my local newspaper, we talked about the different ideas for my paper. The first idea that was mentioned was the style of the newspaper, I have decided to go for a traditional looking newspaper similar to 'The News'. I have chosen to do a traditional looking paper because I feel that they look better and would appeal to those who buy local newspapers. The next decision that I made was the name of my newspaper which is going to be 'Portsmouth Post', this name sums up what my newspaper is all about as I will be writing about the area of Portsmouth and 'Post' is commonly used in names of local newspapers. I have thought about the article that I used for my front page, my idea was to write about a local family who win the lottery, this is a positive story and for the second article on the first page of the paper I am going to write a negative story. Also the rest of the paper was talked about with the adverts, sport story and weather which will all feature in my newspaper on the front page and the first page. I will now begin to put together my ideas and start to create my local newspaper.
